Google Inc through its gmail service unveils its voice calling feature. You can see it on your lower left sidebar inside gmail with label Call Phone. When you click it you will be informed that calls to the U.S. and Canada are free in 2010. This new development would allow gmail user to place calls to landline and mobile phones from within Gmail.

This feature PC to the phone puts Google in direct competition with Internet calling companies like Skype.
